If you find you need help while experimenting here on this blog, WordPress has two major resources that will prove useful. The first is called the Codex. It is a wiki and it is extensive, but it is written primarily about the downloadable version of the platform and may therefore not be as specific to WordPress.com as you might like. Still it is the most authoritative source of information. In particular, this “where to start” page offers some very helpful suggestions.
A second resource available to you is the Support Forums. Keep in mind that the help from the support forums is provided by a non-paid community of users, so they aren’t obligated to help you. Conduct yourself accordingly, and you’ll find them quite helpful.
There is a lot to learn about WordPress, but you don’t have to know everything before you can begin making posts.
